A weekend away

 Saturday morning Tim and I left the boys and headed downtown for our annual hotel/shopping weekend. We got a suite at The Avenue...we stayed there last year too...gotta go with the Groupon. We had a 1 bedroom suite overlooking Michigan Ave.

We spent more time walking and site seeing then actual shopping-didn't really plan it that way. Tim and I walked up and down Michigan and State Street. State Street was a mob scene! The lights everywhere were stunning

It was just a wonderful 2 days and got us super excited to go home and celebrate Christmas

Fun weekend!

Saturday night was the release party for Corporate X's new album Project X. The party was held at The Continental Bar in Humboldt Park. Tim, myself,  my siblings, dad, cousins, Christine and Casper's friends and even my boss and his wife all came out to support Corporate X. They played an acoustic set for everyone which was beautiful.

I even got free drinks (i only drank diet coke)the entire night because the bartender thought I was Christine's mother...yeah...Wow! Made for a good story

Tim and I hit La Majada in Oak Park on the way home for late night taco's

We had a ball and it was a great way to kick off a long weekend of fun

Seriously, my dress looked good on me...I looked way thinner than this shot. The dress is actually an amazing  1960 retro black eyelet. The camera flash accentuated the white lining underneath...it was really more subtle than it appears. I will redeem myself with a daytime picture

Date night

Tim and I went back to The Ivy in Wheaton for dinner, again with our Groupon. The food is so amazing even the butter is great. It is so good that I tried Tim's lamb chop with deep fried tomatoes and ate an entire lamb chop. I always hated lamb...never could stand the after taste...no yucky after taste here.

I was also excited to wear my new super cute outfit. Vera Wang and I have become good buddies (purple tights.)My outfit is really 100 times cuter in person. I have bought a ton of new nice clothes...call it a mid-life crises? I'm not sure, but I do know Tim seems to be enjoying it too

I am dying for these boots below and I am pretty confident in Santa this year. They are similar to ones I already have, except the Aldo boots below have a better sole and support. They also are knee high (almost knee high on me) and a tighter fit around the leg
