There and Here

This is where I thought I be...

This is where I am

So, I get to my 4pm water aerobics class just to find
out the heater was turned off. I seriously considered
getting dressed and hitting the gym.
If the other "blue hairs" can suffer through well dammit
so can I!
I use the term "blue hairs" affectionately
I adore my new found friends.
35 min into my work out my left shoulder blade muscles went into
a seizure of angry muscle spams from the less than tepid water.
As I hobbled to the locker room to submerge myself in the 105 degree
hot tub. I sink below the surface with no regard to the double ear infection
that quite possibly awaits me. As the jets beat on my wounded muscles
I try to stay conscious.

Advil, Vicodin and more menthol topical Anesthetic
then any human should safely apply I make it to work

I should be daydreaming about our tropical Spring Break vacation
instead I sit at my desk seething
I signed off on a 6 figure settlement with SF
6 weeks ago(from my accident to which all neck problems
originated) all I wanted to do was go somewhere warm for Spring Break
But instead I am stuck in this cold weather
waiting on some mentally challenged
BC/BS corporate reimbursement/ subrogation
employee to come up with a figure for me to reimburse bc/bs
It usually takes 1 week and there is a standard procedure
While "Einstein" figures out the rules:
a) my money sits in limbo
b) BC/BS receives no money
and
c)I can't do my part to stimulate
the economy and soothe my body
that has fallen in to disrepair
from the accident that precipitated this whole disaster

Is it any wonder everything is going to Hell in a hand basket?

whooo, I feel better
not as good as if I were on a beach

Tim's Birthday 3-10-1968

My Tim turned 41 and to celebrate I took the kids shopping at Pier One Imports.
Tim's favorite things are candles
My boys have never been in Pier One before
and like all boys they were "boys"
we did get out of there with all store merchandise intact
Tim made a wonderful dinner while I supplied the desserts

TJ's gift

Cal's Buddha candle for dad
and Karrick gave dad his book
(thank you Oak Park Borders book lady
you hit the nail on the head)

One Anniversary down, one birthday down...3 March birthday's to go
Busy month for the McGinty's

13 Years Ago Today

AN OLD IRISH WEDDING BLESSING.

May God be with you and bless you.
May you see your children's children.
May you be poor in misfortune, rich in blessings.
May you know nothing but happiness.
From this day forward.

13 years ago today Tim and I were married at Saint Bernadette
church on the South Side of Chicago.
We had a large traditional Irish wedding, with over 200 people
Our best friends Erin Joyce and Tim Sheahan served as Maid of Honor
and Best Man

The 13  th year is celebrated with Lace

For our Anniversary my in-laws gave us a gift certificate for dinner at
Stoney River in Deer Park
While Tim and I enjoyed a fabulous dinner
the kids got to spend quality time with their grandparents

Tim and I had some quiet time down by the pond

A Day at the Park

I brought Karrick to the K-2 park at PL School.
He will be starting Kindergarten there in
the Fall. Hard to believe it has already been 4 years
since we were the newbies in town
Grade 3-5 have their own park on the other side
It was nice being back, TJ is long gone
and Cal doesn't need his mommy to bring or pick him up from school
To get Karrick use to the idea of switching schools
I rode over on
my bike with Karrick in the trailer.
We met some of his future classmates
Stevie lives on the corner of our block is a week older
than Karrick. They will most likely become best friends
next year. He is the 3rd boy out of 4 kids. Bonnie (his mom)
and I joke about the 3rd child syndrome.

I felt like crap with a wicked headache and at any time
could just drop dead. I'm so in denial that I'm may be sick
I pride myself on being the healthiest person alive.
chronic pain and injuries aside
Tim says I have a metabolism of a race horse therefore nothing
can live in my system long enough

Karrick and I had a game of hopscotch
Been years...

Park continued at home

Boys + Friends = Spring!

I'm almost obsessed, I honestly can't take another day of Winter
and I need Spring now, Spring until Summer!
It was so nice for the guys to have their friends over
to enjoy this weather especially because it is ISAT
week.

Changing of the guard
I only allow a max of 4 on the tramp at a time
Everyone is pretty good about
switching, but they are kids so I check often

Boys Need...

Boys need to be outside.
Boys need to run
Boys need to jump
Boys need to wrestle

Boys need Spring!
I need spring!

                     Future rock star

45 degrees is all it took for the neighborhood to hang at the Mcginty's
We may have the smallest house, but we have the giant double wide driveway
where everyone comes to skateboard while waiting for their
rotation on the trampoline
Every family should have a trampoline

So close , but yet so far

I pass Lombard Commons everyday while driving Karrick to school
Our new water park is taking shape and is due to open in June
Even closer is baseball season. TJ's travel team plays
at the commons also aka field #7
I want to be outside in the sun watching
baseball, complaining about the heat
then  go to the pool
and cool off
Will that day ever come?

The oven.

Wide-angle photo showing owner Bill Wilson standing in front of the counter at Bricks.

Tim and I had date day.
We started out with a gourmet pizza at
Brix wood fired pizza
in downtown Lombard

We then made our way to the theater to see
"The Reader"
We enjoyed the movie very much

I have to ask the question
Why does anyone think it is at all acceptable to chomp and
chew with your mouth open
while eating popcorn?
It's completely gross and disrespectful to the few of us that
have mastered the art of eating popcorn quietly
Do you chomp and slop a steak?
a burger? Pasta?

I think not

Out of the Mouths of Babes...part 105

I was informed this morning by karrick
that I am no longer allowed to feed him black foods.

WHY?

" I keep finking you are trying to make me eat dirt"

It was just a bran muffin, I swear

Zappos and Bloggers Block

I have been suffering from some serious bloggers block.
My last post was a stretch
As they say no news is good news
The most exciting thing going on today is that I bought Karrick
a pair of way cool expensive shoes.
He has problems putting on shoes himself. It
probably stems from his lack of core strength issues
which resulted in him not walking until 2
and unable to hold a pencil correctly thus far.
Vincent
With the wide Velcro T shaped
tongue it's easy to get shoes on himself

Week in Pictures

Another week has come to an end. I know I'm not alone in asking "when did life get so busy?"
Time is just flying by, I am waiting for the day
I wake up and it is warm. Oh forget warm, Hot
I'm ready for HOT, hot and sunny
Our weekend was wonderful. The boys had friends over the majority of the weekend
and of course there was basketball Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
Both Cal and TJ won their games, while I
socialized.

The 3 favorite toys in the McGinty house: Moon Sand, Magnetix and Lego's.They pretty much stay in the living room. Cal and TJ had a sleepover at our house
last night and yes, the preteens were playing
with the Magnetix. Hell, I play with it.
They were recalled due to kids swallowing the magnets, so Walmart
had them on clearance which I quickly scooped up multiple
sets. Great physics toy
Long over due haircut...Sooooo cute!
TJ made popcorn and melted way too much Butter. Where was his best idea to dump it?
Down the drain
TJ, TJ, TJ
I couldn't for the life of me figure out why the kitchen sink was clogged
this morning.
We have a garbage disposal...Everything is obliterated
before it hits the pipes. Tim removed the trap to find 3 inches
of solid butter. So Gross
He is now banned from butter, nobody needs that much butter.
I told him that's what his arteries will look like if he continues
not to mention what will happen to his waist line
The boys and their sleep over buds playing basketball in the snow.
It could be 30 below and these boys are outside
playing basketball ot jumping on the trampoline
I don't have to stress about them playing video games
to long, it all evens out

My handsome little man Cal at his commercial audition, head shot in hand

Karrick's day to bring snack, so we made Rice Crispy treat cupcakes.
Big responsibility when you are snack person.
In addition to the snack you
 1) count how many classmates there are
  2) describe and post the days weather on
the weather board.
                                                 3) Line leader all day.
        4) must hold back big curtain on stage in gym
until all classmates have safely entered the
stage area. The stage has all the gymboree soft
climbing stuff
