Weekend in DC

I was able to sneak away alone to Washington DC for the weekend. My boss of 29 years, son Josh was getting married. I changed Josh's diaper's for the first month of his life until the Haitian Nanny  was hired.
How time flies .
Josh was in the army for the last 4 years stationed in the DC area. He was one of the guards that worked for the president and stood at attention during the speeches. Those jobs typically go to the tall good looking fit soldiers. Josh fits that part. 6'4 with arms the size of my waist.
The grand affair was held at  The Mellon Auditorium
Possibly one of the nicest weddings I've been to. It was great catching up with all the old traders I worked with on the CBOE trading floor during the 80's-90's. Holy crap am I old.
A family brunch was held on Sunday at the Kenndy Center....holy cow, not a foodie at all but this excited me.

I like my shots from the sideline-flash off

My boss on the right and an old trader friend Jeff on the left. Jeff now lives in Cooperstown where he is mayor. He is also an published author.

took these 2 from rooftop

Sat and Sun I walked around with my co-worker and saw the sights. The security is out of control, the equivalence of airport security entering every museum, reception hall etc.
It had been 25 years since I was last in DC. I would really like to go in the summer again
Just a couple days alone was all I needed to recharge my batteries.

personal trainer results

A few months back I posted about TJ working out with his personal trainer Nate Aye at Golden Age Strength Club. I also work out there but in the geriatric group with a different trainer.
TJ does stuff like squat, pick up a 116 lb 14 in diameter cement ball and throw it over a shoulder height bar 12 times in a row. They do crazy ass stuff and it's fun to watch.
I had to send shirtless pictures to TJ's agent as he is the one that suggested TJ get a trainer. He wants TJ to start doing young mens/mens print work but TJ needed to bulk up
I wont post the front one's as it seems kinda wrong, but above is a shot from behind. I had no idea how big TJ has gotten in a short time. I do know he went from a 33 waist jeans to a 30 in waist that is sagging in the above shot, in 6 months. We all should be 6 foot with that waist
In a year I've only lost 1-1 1/2 inches on my waist....ah to be 17 again
Below are just 2 shots I took of TJ at the same time-such a cutie!

snowflakes

The snow flakes that are falling tonight are stunning. I used my macro 100 mm lens to capture these pictures. I am going to try again tomorrow in the light just to see if there is a difference

New head shot for my TJ

I totally love TJ's latest head shot from SOCKO! He has a soft dreamy look and I love his eyes.
He is living up to his nickname "Teen Dream" on the set

New Years Day 2014

What a great day to take Karrick and his buddy sledding!
It was cold and the hill had a sheet of ice under the snow, but it was fast and fun!
I went down once and and my face was cover in snow. COLD!
It did make for some great pictures

Call me the crazy cat mom, but I had to add a couple of the kitten.
Riley must think my long arms are tree limbs. He loves to wrap his arms and legs around them

Ringing in the New Year

New Years Eve was as mellow as it could get.
The boys had an indoor snowball fight. Each received a bucket with 6 soft snowballs from Santa.
Then
TJ went out to celebrate with friends, with strict instructions not to be driving around. Katie and Cal settled in for a movie. Tim myself and Karrick watched a movie upstairs

Welcome 2014!
