Bogs

A bog is a wetland that accumulates peat, a deposit of dead plant material.
It is one of the four main types of wetlands. Bogs occur where the water at ground surface is acidic and low in nutrients. In some cases, the water is derived from precipitation

Our lake was invaded by bogs: big, small, muddy, woody and some animal covered. It was hard to navigate around them as in some parts they spanned across the lake. Whitewater Lake is shaped kind of like a wishbone. On the other side from us is where the boys like to ski because it is much calmer waters, but it was covered in bogs. The last thing you want to do is drive into one. The pictures don't do justice to the enormity of them

They were really pretty cool and our feathered friends loved'em
